Sarcoids

Sarcoids

The most common skin tumour on horses. They can come in all shapes and sizes. Some not so evident so very apparent.

They can be stable and don’t change or become aggressive in nature. They are by normal character locally invasive but don’t spread within a horse usually. Treatment can be challenging as what you see on the surface is only a small part of the issue.

There are many varied treatments available and they can be hard to know what to treat with. For this reason we often confer with a specialist on these. A simple one off fee allows us to utilise this expert Dr Derek Knottenbelt or as we call him Prof Sarcoid. He can give a great advise on what is the best management for these cases.

If in doubt with something your horse has give us a ring and we can schedule an appointment to work out the best plan.
