New Clients – Routine Visits

Any new client will be expected to pay in full at the time of treatment for the first three visits. After the first three visits, we offer all new clients a $500 credit limit. This credit limit will be reviewed when an acceptable credit rating has been established.

Saturday Consultations

We are pleased to offer our clients routine consultations and services charged at our standard rates on the first and third Saturday of every month between 9am and 5pm. All fees for Saturday consultations must be paid at the time of the visit. Saturday consultations must be booked by the preceding Thursday of that week.

New Clients – Emergency Visits

We understand that emergencies are stressful and unexpected. For this reason, we do not ask new clients to pay in full at the time of treatment. Instead we ask new clients to provide us with a deposit of $150 at the time of the emergency visit. This amount can be paid by cash, cheque or Visa/Mastercard.

The balance of the account must be settled within 7 days of invoice.

Existing Clients

All accounts must be settled within 30 days from the date of invoice. Accounts settled within 14 days from the date of invoice attract a 5% settlement discount.

After 45 days from the date of invoice a $6 per month account keeping fee will be charged on all unpaid accounts.

After 60 days from the date of invoice we reserve the right to refer all unpaid accounts to a debt collection agency.

Inability To Pay

If for any reason you are unable to settle your account, we request that you discuss the matter with your treating veterinarian. Please note that payment plans may only be negotiated with Dr Michael Tweedie or Dr Lara Savva.

Estimates of Treatment Costs

Our veterinarians are always happy to provide an estimate of treatment costs. Please note that unexpected variations or complications in your horses’ illness may result in further costs being incurred.

Radiographs

All radiographs remain the property of Tweedie & Associates Equine Veterinary Services.

Upon payment of your account in full, we are happy to provide digital copies of your radiographs.

S4 Medications

Please note that our clinic will not dispense bottles of xylazine, sedivet or dormosedan. If sedation is required for a specific purpose, one of our veterinarians will be happy to attend and administer sedation.

Please note that our clinic will not dispense antibiotics without a prescription from one of our veterinarians. A prescription can only be written when there is an established veterinarian – patient relationship. In keeping with this, prescriptions for antibiotics will not be provided unless one of our veterinarians has examined the animal and made an assessment of the condition for which antibiotics are being prescribed.
